Akshay Kumar has put himself in the controversy for auctioning the ‘Rustom’ costume. Rustom is a Tinu Desai directorial, 2016 Indian periodic thriller film. The film is based on the real-life incident of a Naval officer and a businessman. Akshay Kumar went on to win the best actor award on the 64th national film awards for his performance.

Akshay Kumar announced that he is going to bid the costume he wore on the movie for a good cause. He said that the idea of auctioning the ‘Rustom’ costume evoked for a good cause. This didn’t go well with the public as well as with the Army people. The news regarding the auction was conveyed by Akshay Kumar’s wife Twinkle Khanna. Her post reads on twitter as “Using all the goodwill I have left to raise money for a good cause Do bid folks!”. Twinkle Khanna backed her husband’s idea to sell the uniform and said it is for the noble cause. She added that the money would go for the rescue of animals and for its welfare.
